No one can remember how it started, least of all Kazunari Muto himself, but amongst the rage towards the desolation of human life that has been bubbling in him for ten years or more, Muto’s bedroom recording project, under the moniker of Boys Age, has been steadily creating a genre of music he calls “HolLo-FI”. “HolLo-FI”, a term coined by Muto, combining the words “hollow” and “lo-fi”, embodies the work of an artist coming full circle to where he began, finding an esoteric universe of musical possibilities that he was unable to touch in his earlier works. Still recording in a small thin-walled apartment in suburban Saitama, his music keeps following the path his recent singles pointed at, towards a much deeper, darker place than ever before.

&Chalice, The Deepest Beyond& is the third synth album from Boys Age, following &Mugen-Entei(無限淵底)& and &Kusouzu(九相図)&. Like the previous two albums, this one is sung in a language that is uniquely Boys Age and rejects all thought control that occurs in language. Only Boys Age themselves can understand the true meaning of the world. Every song is performed for the Boys Age and sung to the Boys Age. Not all of these songs are for anyone else.

Many of the twelve songs gliding through the dark universe are unspeakable prayers and beliefs of total detachment from the real world and mental landscape, which is the punk music that Boys Age have been playing since their beginnings.
