Kim Carnes（金.卡恩丝）1945年生于洛杉矶，是美国著名的歌手及歌曲作者。低沉沙哑的嗓音是她的标志，同时她的声音也极具爆破力，最难得的是在表现柔情意喻旋律方面，她特殊的略显暴躁的嗓音同样表现的别具一格。这些特质在演唱Bette Davis Eyes时表现的淋漓尽致，歌曲演绎的颇有另类超凡脱俗的感觉。Kim Carnes早年曾在**做伴音歌手，她自己说这种嗓音条件就是在这种烟熏火燎的环境和酒精的渲染下，再加上演出总是在很晚进行的环境下“锻炼”出来的。

其实Kim Carnes在最初被制作人建议演唱这首歌的时候，她自己认为这首歌曲根本不会受到欢迎而拒绝演唱。但作词者Donna Weiss非常有信心，后来请其它人重新编排，最终经Kim Carnes的演唱取得巨大成功，在排行榜上获得9周冠军，这也成为Kim Carnes的代表作品。
