歌特金属是中世纪风格，单纯的歌特就是忧郁悲情的格调，就算是LACRIMOSA这样严肃的歌特乐队，但很多歌特金属的大多数作品歌特氛围都不太浓重。尽管还是有那么几首是很歌特怀旧的，歌特金属可不强调乐器的使用，不可与交响金属混为一体
