伍德斯托克音乐节
全称“Woodstock Rock Festival“，也有译作“胡士托音乐节“，是目前世界上最著名的系列性摇滚音乐节。美国纽约州北部城镇。在京斯敦(Kingston)西北16公里(10哩)处。为四季游览胜地。1902年后发展为著名的艺术家聚居区。1906年纽约艺术学生联合会的暑期讲习班迁此。最早举行于1969年，主题是“和平、反战、博爱、平等”。规模与阵容史无前例，而且这也是历来少见铜臭味儿的一次音乐节，标榜“音乐与艺术的结合”。

历史
Woodstock的出现与当时的时代背景有很大关系，60年代中晚期，战后的思潮很激烈，年轻人有足够的见解却不被重视，挫折感与避世感顿生，他们渴望一种与世无争、和平、平等的世界，消除贫富差距、反建制，Woodstock应运而生，而它的超前成功又使青年人重拾信心，在Woodstock精神中加入一条积极上进的因素。
1969年，到至今已经有30多年的时间了，而且给人类（或者是美国人）留下2个深刻的记忆。当时在冷战的情况下战胜前苏联，并有一个叫Armstrong人在人类史上第一次登陆月球，而在月球上无法看到的名叫Woodstock地方在`3 Days of Peace & Music`口号下举行了盛大的音乐节。人类在为越来越进步的科技而欢呼之时，另一方面有很多人为音乐而欢呼，是一个非常有趣的一年。
在Woodstock音乐节之前美国已经举行过很多摇滚音乐节，但提起足球就能让人想起世界杯一样，一谈到摇滚音乐节那大家肯定会说到Woodstock音乐节。
为什么呢？1969年美国内外社会矛盾非常多，人权问题、针对参加越南战争而出现的反战争示威等等，所以当时美国社会非常混乱。60年代初的年轻一代反叛精神比较弱，二战以后出生的baby boom时代人参加所谓`Flower Movement`，而且之后被人们称之为hippie族。他们整天喊着反战、爱情、和平，但他的真正意义并不是积极参加到社会，而是回避者、追求梦幻世界的消极阶层。虽然是这样的背景，但4个年轻人自己出钱并策划举办了1969年8月15日Woodstock音乐节。
