来自英国的四个小伙子发起组成的,The Beatles（甲壳虫乐队,也译作“披头四”）他们无疑是上世纪最有影响的乐队。在 8年的时间中，他们不但改变了摇滚乐和流行乐 ，而且,永远的改变了所有音乐的面貌。
1960年他们在德国汉堡的演出 开始引起人们的注意，1964年的成功更令人陶醉,“甲壳虫 ”不但在欧洲而且在新大陆也获得了英雄般的欢迎, 此时,世界性的甲壳虫热潮已经形成。列侬意味深长的歌词创作和他与麦卡特尼的成功合作,是“甲壳虫”非凡成功的关键。他们的语言, 装束, 生活习惯, 到处都被狂热的追随和摹仿。他们的歌曲题材广泛，从爱情到反战，扩展了摇滚乐的 表现力，反映了60年代青年的心声............
1967年正式宣布解散 ,The Beatles 虽然已不存在了，但歌声却常留于世。乐队的歌手也都有各自成功的独唱生涯。1980年，当列侬在一次不幸的崇拜者枪击事件中去世时，全世界的摇滚乐爱好者又都沉浸在对“甲壳虫”的往昔的怀念之中, 这证实了他们的音乐有多大的魅力！
Eagles老鹰乐队 70年代早期成立于美国洛杉矶的一支摇滚乐团体。如果在25岁~40岁的中国人中做个调查：哪首歌是你最早的欧美摇滚音乐启蒙？很多人肯定会投票给The Eagles 的传世之作《加州旅馆》(Hotel California)。
