brit-pop作为一种音乐类型，自然难以被绝对化定义，所以以下定义都是相对而言。

典型的britpop由吉它，贝司，鼓组成。

当中吉他是核心，通常以简单，略带迷幻色彩的扫弦为主，其和弦走向亦主导全曲；

贝司负责低音部分的旋律，通常演奏和弦中的琶音；

鼓多以中速演奏。

Radiohead：Radiohead是一支来自英国牛津的乐队。中国大多翻译成电台司令等。实际上head在这里是迷（fans）的意思。

在针对所有时代最受欢迎的1000张专辑而进行的民意测验显示，这支乐队出现在新闻媒体中的次数最多，并且是第一支也唯一的一支在最近时期内能威胁到披头士乐队的组合。
