这首"Sundown" 于1974年6月登上Billboard排行榜冠军，并且在榜上驻留长达42周之久，演唱者是来自加拿大的Gordon Lightfoot，脱俗真挚中厚的嗓音和颇有深度的歌词以及严肃而不恭的外貌加上与之相反的流行调和大众化的旋律不可思议地使其成为上世纪70年代欧美最成功的民谣歌手之一。虽然在形象上散发着孤傲的个性，人们却非常喜欢他那投众和舒服的音乐。应该说70年代是其音乐生涯的鼎盛期，而在60年代善于吉他和钢琴演奏的他作为音乐制作人在圈内也是一位颇有名气的曲作者。到了70年代后期，在迪斯科和新浪潮音乐的冲击中Gordon Lightfoot仍然坚持自己的风格发表了"Rainy Day People"， "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" ，"The Circle Is Small","Race Among The Ruins",等优秀的作品。在其漫长的音乐生涯中曾经跟Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, George Hamilton IV, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand等著名的艺术家合作进行过音乐活动。 如今步入古稀的Gordon Lightfoot仍然出演各种演唱会，还进行音乐制作。 |
