Tropical house is a subgenre of deep house also being a subgenre of house. The creation of the genre is generally attributed to Kygo in late 2013 and early 2014. Artists of the genre are often featured at various summer festivals such as Tomorroworld 2014.The name of the genre itself started off as a kind of a joke by Thomas Jack, but has since been gaining popularity among listeners.The term "trouse" should not be confused with trop house as "trouse" is used as the name of the genre that instead combines the feeling of trance and the beats of progressive house, utilizing electro synths.
2015 was a year of success for tropical house, with hits such as Kygo's "Firestone" and "Stole the Show", Felix Jaehn's "Ain't Nobody" and his remix of "Cheerleader" and Justin Bieber's "Sorry".
