歌单介绍

Savatage以及Jon Oliva參與之樂隊作品集，自賞歌單。

缺少1986年專輯Fight For The Rock的資源。

1978年，Jon Oliva和Criss Oliva兄弟成立Avatar樂隊，但由於隊名與人重複，鑒於版權緣故，於1983年更名為Savatage。這是一個自創的單詞，為Savage和Tage的結合，此舉想必是為了不再與人重名吧？

1986年的Hall Of The Mountain King和1989年的Gutter Ballet是個人最喜歡的作品。對我來說，Oliva兄弟的演唱和吉他的配合，是這個星球上最美妙的旋律。這兩張專輯，一直在我收藏碟子的第一排隨手可取的位置。這也是Savatage和製作人Paul O'Neill合作的開始，之後Paul幾乎參與了所有的作品的製作，在樂隊裡地位僅次於Oliva兄弟。Paul於2017年去世，享年61歲。

1993年，Jon以身體健康原因，退居幕後，主唱換成了Zachary Stevens。同年十月份，Criss因車禍不幸喪生。這世界上，再無最精妙的人聲與樂器的配合了，嗚呼哀哉！

1995年的Dead Winter Dead和1998年的The Wake Of Magellan，Jon司職鋼琴，並在幾首歌裡重新開唱。

2001年，Jon回歸主唱位置，錄製專輯Poets & Madman，這是Savatage最後一張錄音室專輯。

2015年，樂隊為了參加Wacken音樂節推出精選輯Return To Wacken，短暫重組，據說有新動態，然而幾年裡並無下文。

此外，Jon在不同時期還分別以Doctor Butcher、Jon Oliva's Pain、Oliva等名義發行過作品，或多或少在延續Savatage。歌單一併列出比較。至於他參與Paul O'Neill的以聖誕題材為內容的前衛搖滾計劃Trans-Siberian Orchestra樂隊以玩票為主，與Savatage相去甚遠，就不再收入本歌單了。
