by Evan C. GutierrezProudly representing their beloved Tierra Caliente, La Dinastia de Tuzantla, Mich. boast over 15 years of success and a discography including 16 titles. Hailing from the city of Tuzantla in Michoacan, Mexico, La Dinastia are one of few professional music groups to emerge from this region. As one of their home state's only successful musical acts in over a decade, La Dinastia felt a great responsibility to present the traditional music of Tierra Caliente not only to their loyal regional fan base, but to the greater Mexican listening audience as well. In so doing, La Dinastia soon found themselves playing to enormous audiences in public events and festivals throughout the region. As the band's discography grew, so did its recognition and industry clout. Their 2005 production En Vivo landed the number seven spot on Billboard's Regional Mexican charts and number 17 on the much broader Top Latin Albums category. En Vivo was followed that same year by the only slightly less popular Especialmente Para Ti... Romantica. Their 2007 production Es Grande featured the single "Te Quiero Para Mi," and dominated popular radio throughout Mexico and the American Southwest for months after its release. La Dinastia have since embarked on their most comprehensive tour to date, including numerous stops throughout Mexico and the States.
