by Diana PottsProperly known as Greg Chin, DJ Stryke's musical productions and DJ sets span all genres from ambient to techno to house. In 1980, when hin's family moved to Florida, he had already started producing music. Inspired by classical artists like Chopin and Beethoven, it wasn't until he heard the early sounds of Vengelis, Depeche Mode, and New Order that he added an electronic keyboard to his instruments. After composing several electronic symphonies, Chin discovered DJing. Not too long after he released his first mix CD, United State of Ambience, Vol. 2 on Moonshine Music. It was followed in 1997 by his first full-length album Reality Base on Adrenalin Records. In 1999 he released works under different names and alongside Giant Smith. Stryke also has a side project called Ad Finem with vocalist Tabatha Byng and works with Jorge Del Rey on the Homebase project for Guidance Records. In late January 2001, he released a downtempo/ambient production, Staying In, on Sunrise Recordings.
