by John BushThe Digital Hardcore producer known as Bomb20 impressed the label so much with his criticism of their (comparatively) commercial slant that he gained a record contract of his own. Still just a teenager, he contacted DHR in 1996 to tell them they'd sold out by licensing videos by DHR act Atari Teenage Riot to air on MTV. After sending in a tape of his productions as well, he earned a release on two sublabels, Riot Beats (for "Pigtronics") and Less Than 20 (for The Choice of the Righteous EP). Another EP, Flip Burgers or Die!, followed in 1998 before his album debut, Field Manual. Espousing a violently anti-media, anti-corporate philosophy, he spent six weeks in a German prison during 2000 after being arrested at a demonstration in Berlin.
