Philippa Hanna is a British singer-songwriter from Sheffield, England. She has worked in a variety of musical styles, but is most associated with the Contemporary Christian Music genre.

Since the independent release of debut album Watching Me in 2007, the Sheffield-based songwriter has become one of the biggest names in the UK Gospel music scene, and won the hearts of fans across the globe. Songs like I Am Amazing and Raggedy Doll have seen Philippa campaign for self-esteem in young people, and she is a tireless advocate for children’s charity Compassion: She visited Haiti with the organisation in 2009 and has since recruited hundreds of sponsors for their work.

2012 saw her busiest year of touring yet, leading to an invitation to support soul legend Lionel Richie across 11 UK arena dates. Fresh from this success, Philippa returned to the studio with Grammy-winning producer Eliot Kennedy (Bryan adams, Spice Girls) to record the brand-new album, Through the Woods. The ambitious project was completed with the help of a successful crowd-funding campaign, with fans getting behind her to smash through the £10,000 target.

She kicked off 2013 with her 2nd appearance on Songs of Praise along with an invitation to play on the main stage of the Big Church Day Out, a two-day festival that saw 20,000 fans through the gates. Singles Lighthouse and The Daffodil Song have received airplay on BBC Radio 2, with Philippa appearing on Good Morning Sunday to be interviewed by presenter Clare Balding.
