Drawing inspiration from everyone from Black Sabbath to Voivod to Captain Beefheart, the albums of Swedish avant-metal band Pan-Thy-Monium were conceptual pieces based around tales of "the unknown cult of Raagoonshinaah (the god of emptiness and gloom)." The group issued three records, disbanding prior to the release of III: Khaooohs and Kon-fus-ion, their only work released in the U.S.
