Early San Francisco punk band formed in 1977 by Jeff Olener, Alejandro Escovedo and Jennifer Miro.
They gained popularity opening concerts for both The Sex Pistols and The Damned in the States.
The band released three 7" singles: "Savage/Decadent Jew/Suicide Child/" (1978), "Media Control/The Beat" (1979) and "World War III/Cock In My Pocket" (1980).
The Nuns disbaned in 1980 and reunited shortly after to record their self-titled debut LP for Posh Boy, which compiled all their classic anthems in more polished versions.
Another split came shortly after, and the band members started to pursue their solo careers, rejoining forces from time to time, for example in 1986 for the "Rumania" LP, in 1989 for the "In The Shadows" 7" and "Desperate Children" CD.
Recently Jennifer Miro (now known as Jennifer Anderson) has called The Nuns back to life, moving towards a more gothic and electronic sound.
