Vocalist/guitarist Steve Ford, his guitar-playing brother Mike, bassist Baz Barrett, and drummer Chris Billam formed Consumed in 1994 in the mining community of Nottinghamshire, England -- on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Their blistering style of punk rock gained them a spot on the skate/surf/snowboard festival circuit; they were featured in the 1997 and 1998 Newquay Surf Festivals, the 1995 and 1996 U.K. Snowboard Festivals, and the Nottingham Skate Festival in 1997. The band also put in its time touring the British Isles with NOFX, Snuff, Shelter, and other hardcore bands. In 1998, the members of Snuff brought a Consumed demo tape to the folks at Fat Wreck Chords in San Francisco; the band was almost immediately signed and Fat Wreck Chords put out its debut album, the six-song Breakfast at Pappa's, later that year. In 1999, Fat Wreck Chords followed up with Consumed's first full-length release, Hit for Six. The band resurfaced briefly in March 2003 with Pistols at Dawn on BYO, but by the year's end, Consumed had called it quits.
