Acoustic Ladyland (formed in 2001) are a London, United Kingdom based band consisting of Pete Wareham on tenor and baritone saxophones, Seb Rochford on drums, Tom Cawley on Piano and Ruth Goller on bass. They are part of the F-IRE Collective.
The band combines heavy punk rhythms and noise with jazz sensibilities, often within the same song. Their songs feature intense drumming and heavy riffs, despite the lack of guitars.
Their first two albums were released on the Babel Label with latest album Skinny Grin released in 2006 on V2. Winners of BBC Jazz Award for best group in 2005. Last Chance Disco was the Jazzwise album of the year in 2005.
Two members of Acoustic Ladyland - Pete and Seb - are also members of Polar Bear, itself led by the drummer. Fulborn Teversham, another Rochford project, also features
