by Bill DahlNow known as The Chicago Rhythm And Blues Kings, The Mellow Fellows held their personnel together after the 1990 death of singer Larry Big Twist Nolan. Saxist Terry Ogolini and guitarist Pete Special, co-founders of the group, recruited Twists pal Martin Allbritton to front the band, and they cut the buoyant Street Party for Alligator in 1990 with part-time member Gene Daddy G Barge helping out on sax and vocals. When Special split, the band switched-to its current regal billing.
