Brian Blade 1970年出生在Louisiana，在Shreveport长大，后来他去了New Orleans。跟随Ellis Marsalis，Johnny Vidacovich,Herlin Riley学习之后，Blade开始摸索自己的风格。为许多人录音和演出，Joshua Redman,Kenny Garrrtt,Bob Dylan(Time Out Of Mind),Emmylou Harris(Wrecking Ball),Daniel Lanois都表现的游刃有余。他在Blue Note发行的第一张专辑Brian Blade Fellowship赢得了很高的评价。Brian Blade打破了音乐的界限，他说:“我希望音乐成为伙伴，这与你们希望整个世界团结是一样的，我希望音乐能实现那中团结。这是我一只以来的理想，我想把它保持下去。”
A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brian Blade established himself as a versatile, accomplished drummer early in his career, appearing on albums by the likes of Joshua Redman, Kenny Garrett and Bob Dylan before he released his first album, Brian Blade Fellowship at the age of 27 in 1998. Perceptual followed two years later.
