by Bruce EderLeader/founder of the Strawbs, Dave Cousins may be the most talented Dylan-influenced songwriter to come out of England. His work fairly resounds of both rebellion and antiquity, as though he were writing protest songs of the 18th or 19th centuries. Haunting melodies abound, carried by his raspy and sincere voice. Its beautiful sound is marred only by the same problem that plagued the Strawbs — his difficulty in finding proper musical backup and settings.
