Peter Andrew Furler (born September 8, 1966) is an Australian musician , songwriter , producer , and record executive but is best known as the former lead singer for the Christian rock band Newsboys .

As a young lad, Peter Furler would tap incessantly on anything he could find – driving his brothers and sisters insane in the process.

As a young drummer, the beat was always in him – and always looking for an avenue to escape.

His musical creativity is no different.

Raw talent combined with hard work has produced one of Australia’s biggest exports – not just in Christian music but in every genre.

Awarded multiple Grammy nominations and Dove awards, Furler has been named the industry’s songwriter of the year – a talent and a voice that has driven the sales of five Gold records and over seven million units sold.
