Landslide is the result of Brazilian trip-hop and drum'n'bass breakbeats uniting with equatorial downtempo and a spine of British house. Raised with a drum kit, Landslide, aka Tim Land, began his professional music career in the 1990s doing session work and various engineering assignments before catching the attention of jungle outfit London Elektricity, who asked him to help out with percussion, programming, and production duties for their album Pull the Plug. By 1999, Land was making waves under the Landslide moniker, putting out a line of singles and releasing his lauded debut full-length, Drum & Bossa. The LP suggested a subgenre of music that, unsurprisingly, used elements of drum'n'bass and bossa nova and in the process made Landslide one of Hospital Records most prized and respected acts.
