The orchestra's continuing success is the result of nearly fifteen years of undiminished pleasure in making music together and delight in bringing out both extreme and fine emotional nuances in the music and would not have been possible but for the competence of each member in the modern interpretation of historical performance practice.
The ensemble's repertoire and stylistic range are impressive: Italian early Baroque and Viennese Classical operas are interspersed with cantatas and oratorios by Bach, Handel and Mendelssohn, the requiems of Mozart and Brahms, symphonies and solo concertos by Telemann and masterpieces by little known composers.
Under the direction of its leader Anne Röhrig, the Hannoversche Hofkapelle presents its own highly imaginative programmes in concerts like the RING Barock of NDR and the annual New Year's Eve Concert at the Galerie Herrenhausen. The Hannoversche Hofkapelle moreover performs with the Hanover Boys' Choir and Girls' Choir and the Maulbronn Chamber Choir, with which it has made numerous internationally acclaimed CD recordings.
