Noémi is an Italian singer who rose to fame on the television reality show X Factor in 2008 before embarking on a solo career the following year. Born Veronica Scopelliti on January 25, 1982, in Rome, she appeared on the second season of X Factor, a Pop Idol-style television reality show in Italy. While she finished in fifth place, well behind first-place winner Matteo Becucci, she was offered a recording opportunity with Sony BMG. Noémi made her commercial debut with the single "Briciole," a number two smash hit. She also released an eponymous six-track EP, Noémi, featuring "Briciole." The follow-up single, "La Costruzione di un Amore," was also a hit.
