Contemporary country singer Alecia Elliott was born in Muscle Shoals, AL on Christmas Day, 1982. She was just nine years old when country star Lorrie Morgan -- impressed by Elliott's demo recordings -- invited her onstage for a duet; she performed regularly throughout Nashville in the years to follow, and in 1995 was invited to sing at the Grand Ole Opry Inaugural Concert for Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist. Elliott went on to tour Europe and perform at the White House before signing to RCA, issuing her debut album I'm Diggin' It in early 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
