Alan Menken——一个迪士尼粉丝无比熟悉的名字。迪士尼80年代末90年代初百老汇音乐剧模式的奠基人，《小美人鱼》《美女与野兽》《阿拉丁》《风中奇缘》《钟楼怪人》《大力士》《放牛吃草》《魔法奇缘》等多部迪士尼作品谱曲，8座奥斯卡奖得主（在世作曲家中获得奥斯卡次数最多的人）。在2007年Menken凭借《魔法奇缘》回归并斩获3项奥斯卡提名的肯定后，人们都在期待这位大师回归复出后的下一步动作。不错，我们看到了Menken掌舵负责的《小美人鱼》和《修女也疯狂》舞台版音乐剧的上演，但是相信很多人都想看到Alan Menken新的大荧幕作品，现在终于来了，而且更让人激动的是，Menken再度回归了他最擅长的迪士尼音乐剧模式动画——《长发公主》。

根据Menken最新作品《修女也疯狂》百老汇音乐剧官方网站上刊登的关于Alan Menken的介绍，Menken正在和他《放牛吃草》《小美人鱼》百老汇音乐剧的合作伙伴，作词人Glenn Slater 为迪士尼新动画《长发公主》创作音乐。这将是1部新的迪士尼童话故事，并且将走迪士尼音乐剧模式（也就是Menken在《小美人鱼》中开创的）。

而《长发公主》《闪电狗》的导演Bryon Howard也在2月底接受Animation World Magzine也证实了这个消息，他表示他和本片的另外一位导演Nathan Greno已经为本片忙活了10个星期，他们有了一些由Menken创作的歌曲，他们认为影片下一步会怎么发展要到2个月后才会有结论。

《长发公主》是迪士尼首部用3维形式呈现的童话音乐剧模式动画，原由迪士尼首席动画大师Glen Keane负责。后因Glen健康状况欠佳，无法负责导演工作，再加上本片的故事进展不能让迪士尼动画部首席创意官John Lasseter满意，Glen被Bryon和Nathen取代，但是并没有离开《长发公主》制作组，Glen仍然将担任本片的动画导演。毕竟本片将采用Glen和他的团队研发的新3维动画效果，希望打造1部具有“油画”质感的3维动画。现在本片正在两位新导演Bryon和Nathen的带领下“重做”（就像之前《闪电狗》一样），预计将在2010年底推出。

而至于Menken，原来他并不是《长发公主》的谱曲，现在被换上是很有意思的。因为不要忘了《公主与青蛙》的导演Ron和John原来是希望Menken负责《公主与青蛙》的音乐的，但是由于John Lasseter不希望迪士尼过于重复自己（在Menken刚刚完成《魔法奇缘》后），决定任命Randy Newman打造《公主与青蛙》音乐。尽管如此Randy还是将会让《公主与青蛙》走之前Menken最擅长的迪士尼音乐剧路线。现在Menken来负责《公主与青蛙》后的迪士尼又一部童话音乐剧动画《长发公主》，是不是怕Randy Newman音乐剧模式不成功而自己这位音乐剧动画大师赶快来“拯救”了？

Life and career

Alan Irwin Menken (born July 22, 1949) is an American musical theatre and film composer and pianist. Menken is best known for his scores for films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. His scores for ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Aladdin’, and ‘Pocahontas’ have each won him two Academy Awards. He also composed the scores for ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ (1986), ‘Newsies’ (1992), ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ (1996), ‘Hercules’ (1997), ‘Enchanted’ (2007), ‘Tangled’ (2010), and ‘Sausage Party’ (2016), among others. He is also known for his work on musical theatre works for Broadway and elsewhere. Some of these are based on his Disney films, but other stage hits include ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ (1982), ‘A Christmas Carol’ (1994) and ‘Sister Act’ (2009).

Menken has collaborated with such lyricists as Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, Glenn Slater, Stephen Schwartz and David Zippel. With eight Academy Award wins (four each for Best Score and Best Original Song), Menken is the second most prolific Oscar winner in the music categories after Alfred Newman, who has nine Oscars. He has also won eleven Grammy Awards, a Tony Award and other honors.
