Having previously released material on leading British underground label Blackest Ever Black as Young Hunting, Dalhous is the another incarnation of Edinburgh duo Marc Dall and Alex Ander. Drawing upon the same dark sonic influences as their previous outfit, Dalhous' sound takes in cinematic (especially the films of Jack Bond and Jane Arden) as well as wider sound textures. They released their two-track 10& debut, Mitchell Heisman, on BEB in December 2012. The muscular electronics and heavy bass undercurrent of the release recalled experimental post-punk Coil and fellow labelmates Raime, and received critical acclaim. In early 2013, they announced that their full-length studio album An Ambassador for Laing would be released in the spring of that year.
