LOONA – QUEEN OF LATIN POP
Marie-José van der Kolk, called LOONA, has been the most successful Latin-pop artist in europe for many years. The native Netherlander has ranked in the Top Ten for over a decade. She has since sold more than 10 million sound carriers all over the world.
In the summer of 2009 her hit “Parapapapapa”, the highest newcomer that summer, stormed the charts and became THE summer hit of the year. And the best is still to come!
After “Vamos a la Playa” in 2010 (#4 in France) and “El Tiburón” in 2011, the sexy songstress has just released another summer hit: “Policia”!
LOONA’s first chart hit “Bailando” has made her into a paragon of Latin-Pop. The song was Number 1 in the Media Control Charts for many weeks. “Bailando” became a worldwide hit and LOONA a superstar. Numerous Top Ten hits like “Hijo de la luna“ (# 1), “Mamboleo“ (# 3), “Latino Lover“ (# 6), „Rhythm of the night“ (# 4) and many others followed. She received many gold- and platinum awards and was twice awarded with the german “Echo” music prize.
Together with DJ Sammy LOONA has reached numerous chart placements all over the world with her Top Ten hits „Boys of Summer“ and „Sunlight“:
