小简介
It's no mean feat to get the attention of Andrew Lloyd Webber and have him take you under his wing and provide you with the resources to get your career going in a big way, but to do it at the age of 13 is something else altogether. As unlikely a scenario as that is, it is exactly what happened to Boston singer Andrea Ross in 2004. Her career proper started even earlier, as a student at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts, where she won roles in a number of local productions, including the lead in Tuck Everlasting in 2001. After catching the ear of Webber via the Internet, Ross would become the youngest recipient of the Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Actress in 2005, and starred in a production of The Sound of Music. As part of her working relationship with Webber, Ross began work on an album of hit songs from some of musical theater's best-known works. The resulting collection, entitled Moon River, was released on Universal Classics in March of 2007. In addition to scoring a Top 50 album, Ross also found herself part of the memorial Concert for Princess Diana that same year. Even though her professional career was bursting at the seams, Ross kept on with her education, and was part of the class of 2009 at the Noble and Greenough School, as well as attending public schools in her home state of Massachusetts.
