Andrew &Roo& Panes is an English singer-songwriter. He gained a wide audience after participating in a campaign for Burberry. This included recording music for Burberry Acoustic and modelling.
Panes was born in Wimborne, Dorset, England as Andrew Panes. After falling into a river as a child, he received the nickname 'Roo' in homage to a Winnie-the-Pooh character who met a similar fate while playing a game called pooh sticks. He credits his grandmother, a classical pianist, and other family members with inspiring him to pursue music. Before playing acoustic guitar and writing songs, he briefly studied the trumpet and electric guitar. Other members of his family are similarly talented; his twin, Deborah, is a professional photographer, while sister Lucy provides artwork for his EPs.
