by Jason LymangroverInstead of getting their start on the California coast like their musical forefathers, blink-182, or in Canada like soundalikes Simple Plan and Sum 41, Red Car War formed in Dallas, TX. They quickly became darlings of the emo-pop community, especially among teen girls due to their charisma, boyish good looks, and swoopy scene-hair -- "Josh is completely adorkable and Evan is absolutely gorgeous," is one of the many comments proclaiming the band's hotness on their Myspace page. Evan Lester (main vocals/guitar), Josh Cutlip (drums), and Davey Hoogerwerf (backing vocals/bass), started the group and then added Garett Bouline on guitar after they began to establish themselves on the scene. With the help of diligent nationwide street teams promoting RCW and spots on Grey's Anatomy, the band got their ultimate break when they secured a slot on the Vans Warped tour in 2007. Two EPs followed: Red Car Wire debuted in 2007, and Let's Never Get Older came out in October of 2008.
