by Diana PottsDrummer Leon Lamont is a drum'n'bass artist who hails from the Clyde Stubblefield school of drummers. Originally from St. Louis, Lamont moved to New York to be closer to the belly of the music scene. He has played with the likes of Medeski, Martin and Wood, and Joshua Redman. In 1999, he toured as the drummer for DJ Logic on the Protect the Logic Tour. For his 2000 solo debut, he played all the instruments himself and used no samples, a rare thing for a drum'n'bass album. The album, Breakbeat Mechanic, was released in November on WordSound Recordings.
