by John BushProducers Volker Lutz and Thorsten Brenda formed the aggressive industrial project Evil's Toy in 1992. After recording their debut album Human Refuse, the duo had trouble finding a contract until the German Hyperium/Hypnobeat label stepped in and released it in 1995. Metropolis Records picked up stateside distribution, and also released Lutz and Brenda's follow-up, Morbid Mind. The third album, XTC Implant, followed in early 1997. Evil's Toy left Hyperium soon after its release, choosing to record the album Illusions with no dependent support. After two more albums, Lutz and Brenda changed their name to Toy, citing the fact they no longer believed they were evil.
