Her brash, rebellious, introspective music can appeal to many different audiences, but teens are the target audience of Sarah Hudson's guitar-driven angst-pop. The teens might be hip to her cousin -- actress Kate Hudson -- but the teens' parents are probably just as familiar with her father, the Hudson Brothers' Mark Hudson. Growing up in Bel Air, CA, with a purple Mohawk meant Hudson was always an outcast. Out of high school Hudson wrote a ton of songs and eventually landed a record deal with S-Curve/EMI in 2004. Her career was given a kick-start when the PBS news program Frontline featured the singer and her father talking about the ups and mostly downs of the music business on the "The Way the Music Died" episode. A month later her debut, Naked Truth, hit the streets and Hudson toured the country on the Rock the Vote Bus Tour.
