艺人介绍

by Greg PratoThe modern day jazz avant-garde outfit the Tone Sharks consists of members Tom Bergeron - soprano & alto sax, percussion, Brent Heyne - trombone, vocals, Steve Willis - guitar, Page Hundemer - electric bass, and Dave Storrs - drums (and sometimes joined by Mark Bakalar - tuba, trombone). All of its members are seasoned veterans, having either issued their own solo albums, or recorded with other artists over the years. Storrs has issued a pair of solo albums, Ross Island and Jumper Cables, and runs his own label, Louie Records, while Bergeron has issued the solo sets Saxophone Alone and Leopard Tales for his own label, Teal Creek Records, and Hundemer plays in a group called Whirled Jazz (who served as the back-up band for Bergeron's sophomore effort). For their first two releases, 1998's Report from a Log and Ten Stories, the group was going by the name Dave Storrs & the Tone Sharks. Soonafter, it was shortened it to just the Tone Sharks, for such subsequent releases as 1999's Cave Sleepers: Surf Shark/Over Hill & Date, plus a pair of albums in 2000, Chunks of Zen and WW.Shark (all of which were issued on Storr's label, Louie).
