by Mark DemingPlaying punk-fueled power pop with beefy guitars and tight harmonies, Buffalo, NY, power trio the Razzels got an early boost from fellow New York Staters the Goo Goo Dolls, who helped the band find gigs and assisted in the recording of their first album, 1999's Suck My First Impression. The album caught the attention of garage rockers the Cynics, who brought the Razzels aboard as touring partners; Gregg Kostelich of the Cynics also signed to band to his label, Get Hip Records. The band's second album, Throttle, followed in 2001.
