Paris Angels, from Guide Bridge, Ashton-under-Lyne, England, are a seven-member indie rock and dance group associated with the Madchester scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The members were regulars of The Hacienda danceclub, and soaked in the sounds of acid house and the influential ecstasy-fueled and Balearic grooves predominant at the time. Their sound encompasses danceable beats, mostly positive vibes, funky guitars, and a heavy dose of synth-pop à la New Order (their sound wasn't dissimilar to the Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr side project Electronic.)
Paris Angels were active from 1990-'92, and reformed in 2013 to release a new album, "Eclipse," with all original members except for original drummer Simon Worrall, who died tragically in 2011.
Members: Rikki Turner, Jayne Gill, Steven Tajti, Scott Carey, Mark Adj, Simon Worrall (R.I.P.), Paul Wagstaff (who later joined Black Grape and Happy Mondays.)
