Dozens of heavy metal bands have named themselves Genocide over the years, but the one from Kleve, Germany, was formed in 2005 by former members of the recently defunct black metal band Eternal Frost: bassist/vocalist Plague and drummer Tsyrtec. Completed a short time later by guitarist/vocalist Chaos (ex-Elohim), Genocide quickly recorded a few demos and then released both an EP (Blasphemic Terrorism) and long-player (Apocalyptic Visions) in 2007. All displayed the trio's penchant for crusty, Satanic, old-school black metal of the variety popularized by Hellhammer, Darkthrone, and others.
