Following in France's grand tradition of electronica duos (Daft Punk, Air, etc.), tHe pEneLOpe[s] (a.k.a. Axel Basquiat and Vincent Tremel) released a few scattered singles and B-sides starting in 2002. They released their debut full-length, The Arrogance of Simplicity, five years later.
