A native of Ross, Ireland, a small village near Castlebar in County Mayo, Mayock began playing the tin whistle at the age of five. By her teens, she had mastered the instrument, as well as the timber flute. At the age of 14, she composed his first air. Mayock released his debut album, Merry Bits Of Timber, nine years later at the age of 23.
