艺人介绍

b. Upper Hutt, New Zealand. Stevens became the number one teen idol of the 70s in New Zealand and recorded two successful albums of covers and standards there. He was enticed to Australia to broaden his horizons and to prove his talent to a wider audience. There he joined the Fraser brothers from the Change, a young hard rock band. As Noiseworks they recorded several well-received albums in the late 80s and early 90s. Stevens’ clean strong voice was a good vehicle for the stadium rock music played by the band. When Noiseworks called it a day in 1992, Stevens released solo material and joined the stage cast of a revival of the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. In 1999, he teamed up with former bandmates Stuart Fraser and Kevin Nicol to tour as Noiseworks II, with the original trio joined by new members Barbara Griffin (keyboards) and Chris Bekker (bass). He also appeared in the Australian production of Happy Days. The following year, Stevens was recruited as INXS’ new vocalist as a replacement for the deceased Michael Hutchence.
