来自芬兰的 October Falls 是 Mr. M. Lehto 的个人乐队, 始于2001年, 风格大抵以民谣金属为主. 如同泉水般清澈的音乐, 让他们渐渐为人所知.

2003年, M.Lehto 将一些作品集结起来命名为 Kaste, 自己刻成了MCDR, 大约有20来张, 后来这些作品大部分被收入了他自发行的CDR, Tuoni. 2004年, Tuoni 在 Dark Horizon 厂牌下重新发行. 这张专辑从作曲到混音都由 M.Lehto 一手完成. 运用原声吉它, 长笛和钢琴所营造出来的清冷幽暗的音乐氛围, 让所有听过的人都不自觉沉溺其中... Tuoni 除了M.Lehto 自发行的CDr, Dark Horizon 发行的CD以外, Ahdistuksen Aihio Productions 还发行了限量400的LP.

2005年, October Falls 在 Corvus Records 发行了真正意义上的首张专辑 Marras, 在纯器乐的基础上, M.Lehto 又加入了少量的人声部分. 如果听过 Empyrium 的 Where at night the wood grouse plays 这张专辑的话, 你会很快把它们联系起来(October Falls 不去签 Prophecy 简直是没天理...). 清冷的气质依然在 Marras 里延续. Marras 还在美国黑暗厂牌Dark Horizon 和俄罗斯厂牌 Irond Records 下发行了豪华CD版, 此外, Scarred North Productions 亦为其发行了限量500的LP, LP版本里收录了一首CD版本未曾收录的单曲.

2006年意外的听到了 October Falls 在向 Katatonia 致敬的合辑 December Songs 里翻唱的 For funerals to come..., 竟然是一黑到底...

2007年, 新专辑 The Stream Of The End 已经问世, 尚未入手, 极为期待... 据说 Tuoni, Marras 以及这张 The Stream of the End 是同一脉络的三部曲, Tuoni 全为器乐, 乐器使用也十分简单, 而 Marras 在此基础上添加了少量人声, 乐器也不再仅限于吉它, 长笛和钢琴, 不知新专辑里会不会又更多一些惊喜呢?...

Originally a solo project of M. Lehto.

The band's early released music was mostly acoustic and ambient, with themes of nature. They changed their style to dark/black metal on &The Streams of the End,& and according to Lehto's interviews, the very first promo in 2001 was mostly metal, heavily influenced by Opeth and Katatonia. The promo was distributed in very limited numbers.

The band uses two different kinds of logos on their releases:

- a square one for their 'folk-influenced' and

- an orbital one for their 'metal influenced music.

There is a site on MySpace named October Falls. This site is not to be confused with this band as it denies the use of these platform.

An additional release named &Kaste& was recorded and used for promotion purposes. It has a printing on the disc and exists in a number of about twenty.
