by Andrew LeaheyWhile performing as Conor Oberst's guitarist in Desaparecidos and fronting the abstract indie rock outfit Statistics, Denver Dalley also found time to work alongside programmer Sam Shacklock. The two musicians met in 1998, just as Dalley was finishing high school, and began collaborating on an electronic music project several years later. Intramural had officially taken shape by 2003, and the two began enlisting a variety of musicians to provide vocal tracks for the project's first album. Featuring vocals from the Pink Spiders' Matt Friction and Twilight Singers/Afghan Whigs frontman Greg Dulli, This Is a Landslide marked Intramural's studio debut in late 2007.
