In 1999, their raging and power first appeared on disc, when the trio offered Broadzilla Vs. the Tramp-O-Lean, their debut album, by then through the Phat Sack Records label. Broadzilla then promptly gathered the attention of a loyal legion of fans all across the Midwest, opening the way for the band to share the stage with bands like L7, the Deftones, Skid Row, and the Goo Goo Dolls. In April 2001, the trio received the Motor City's recognition, receiving the award for Best Hard Rock band at the 2001 edition of the Detroit Music Awards. A few months later, the crew re-entered the studio to record their sophomore effort, Lady Luck; and not long after, in April of 2002, Broadzilla was again awarded with the prize for Outstanding Hard Rock Metal Performance at the Detroit Music Awards.
