"Within the notes I write, I hope to inspire a deep sense of wonder, beauty, fantasy, magic and infinite possibilities that exist at our very own fingertips. I am here to amplify the quiet voices of nature that surround us, so we too can peacefully expand and evolve with the rest of the cosmos."Danish-Canadian singer, songwriter and composer, Abøn grew up always engaged in something new. First a ballet dancer then scientist, she ultimately grounded her wings in music. She was raised on symphonies and theatre outings, and studied classical piano and cello. She later went on to teach herself guitar, bass and drums in post-high school bands, and quickly discovered her passion for writing and arranging. She and two friends began "The Willows", a vocal jazz trio, where, as composer for the group, she tapped into a talent for writing close harmonies. Her musical curiosity continued to grow and she felt the need to explore a new world of sound. And so came the genesis of Abøn. The mixture of Abøn’s mesmerizing vocals with electronic textures is reminiscent of artists such as Oh Land, Aurora and Lykke Li. Her lush and soothing string arrangements, vocal layers and harmonious movement brings a classical canvas to her pop-infused melodies, and her vocal quality has been described as bringing a sense of vulnerability, peacefulness and honesty to her listeners.
