Biographyby Mike DaRoncoFormed by two Auckland, New Zealand, natives who only go by the names of Dion and Jimmy, the two guitarists/vocalists got together as the D4 in 1998 after branching out from their former band, Nothing at All. With their self-titled, self-released 1999 debut EP, the D4 would capture a ruckus of AC/DC/Motörhead-fueled garage-punk that would eventually follow on the self-titled CD EP and Ladies Man single, both of which came out in 2000. The next year, the D4 stayed on their self-releasing spree in 2001 with their first full-length, entitled 6Twenty.
