艺人介绍

by Andy KellmanBill Van Loo is a producer, musician, and DJ based in Ypsilanti, MI, a town located roughly 40 miles west of Detroit. Since the mid-'90s, Van Loo has been producing music that has sifted through the primary influences of Detroit techno (Carl Craig, Derrick May) and Berlin dub (Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound), all the while incorporating less obvious strains of jazz and hip-hop. No stranger to the live scene, Van Loo scored a couple of significant gigs with appearances at Richie Hawtin's 13 Below club and the first Detroit Electronic Music Festival. In 2001, Van Loo appeared on Planet E's All Access to Detroit's Music Festivals; he also self-released Chromedecay Tracks: 1996-2001 and issued the Tones (For Sarah) single on Berlin's City Centre Offices. Just as significantly, he began teaching sound design to undergraduates at Detroit's College for Creative Studies. 2002 was another busy year for the producer; he self-released Live at Leopold Bros., recorded a 12" for Plug Research, and continued his steady rise in Detroit's electronic music scene.
