by Larry BelangerIts taken four years and a few changes in the line-up.The upbeat, some call him neurotic, rock refugee Beezer Hill on vocals and guitar has got the Gladrags "powerpunkbubblegum machine" in tune, rockin', roarin' and ready to roll. The band consisting of Dave Vegafria on bass, Peter Marchese on the drums were playing club dates around the land to spread the word about the 1997 CD, Can't Let Go. A powerhouse trio packed with melodies, hooks, and catchy choruses, driven by pure punk energy.Their music is being hailed as sizzling by critics and fans alike. "Its all the stuff I grew up with 60s, 70s, 80s, new stuff, I just takes the bits I like from here and there, add ice, and shake!" says Beezer Hill. "Our objective for each show is to blow your mind with pure rock and roll. No flash pots, no funny contact lenses, just three musicians delivering the goods as best we know how. A little eyeliner, maybe..." Some of the guest slots the Gladrags have had include gigs with Menthol, Triplefastaction, Radish, Fastball, and Love Nut. They also had the pleasure of having the Sex Pistols open for them on the Filthy Lucre tour. Well, actually, they played the post-concert set, but it was still pretty cool.
