Embalmer formed in 1991. The original lineup was Toby Wulff on Bass and Vocals, Marc Davis on Lead Guitar, and Roy Stewart on Drums. The sound of the band was a raw, sick, blood drenched massacre of grind riffs and drumming in the vein of Terrorizer, early Carcass, and Napalm Death. The vocals were something out of a fucking horror movie from sick low gutterals to high shrieks from the hearse itself. The band began gigging out and soon received a wide underground fan base. They recorded Into The Oven in the fall of 91 and then added on guitarist Scott Cunningham. Scott lasted 2 shows and got the boot for ex-Mutilation guitarist Duane( Duaniac) Morris. The demo was well accepted in the underground and the bands popularity increased. By fall of 92 Toby and Duane both called it a day and left the group. Roy and Marc pressed on. Early 93 saw a new lineup John Jermann on Lead Guitar, Brian Holmberg on Bass and Rick Fleming on Lead Vocals. This lineup recorded the Rotting Remains demo in summer of 93 and released it in the fall. This demo sparked even more interest, low gurgles and grind beats very uncommon to the scene were everwhere not to mention shredding guitars. Relapse Records decided to distribute the demo in 94 and eventually signed Embalmer to do a 7 inch in 95. The now legendary There Was Blood Everywhere was released in late 95 with new bass player Dave Phillips. Lack of interest saw Dave out and Greg Jucuum in, in 96. The band continued playing shows till Rick Fleming left due to other members lack of commitment. Relapse released There Was Blood Everywhere on cd in early 97 and added Rotting Remains to it. In late 97 before the demise of the group they attempted to replace Fleming with Frank Walls, played one show and broke up

Early 2005 Rick and Roy decided to start Embalmer again. They called Marc and Jocko and added on new comer Rob Lesniak on Bass. The band continued playing festivals till early 06. Marc and Jocko both left due to lack of interest and were replaced by Don Wolff and the return of Duaniac. In the summer of 06 the band wrote a new full length and released it on Pathos Productions Friday October the 13th, entitled 13 Faces Of Death. The band kept on gigging out, playing festivals and shows till summer of 07 Roy was let go due to lack of skill and devotion. In comes Tim Powell from Florida to take his place, but 08 saw the exiting of Duane and Rob and the entrance of Brian Baxter on Bass. as the end of 08 draws closer Rick,Don, Brian, and Tim prepare to record a 3 song e.p. as a prelude to the next album The Apocalyptic Bloodshower.
