Highspire is a shoegaze/dreampop band originally from Philadelphia. Wanting a fresh start and name from their previous band Intro to India, Alex White and EJ Hagen founded Highspire in 1999 as the vehicle to continue their songwriting partnership. Their debut album "Your Everything" was released in 2003 (Europe only, Alison Records) and 2004 (rest of world, Clairecords). "Your Everything" with its shoegaze, britpop and trip hop influences was very well received and garnered many reviews comparing elements of their sound to Ride, The Charlatans, Slowdive, Bowery Electric, and Massive Attack.
Since 2004, they have released a few songs on various compilations. Highspire's second album, "Aquatic," was released in April 2010 on their own label ReverseReverb.
EJ and Alex are also current members of the Australian band The Morning After Girls.
